A pumpkin spice latte dehydrates your skin and causes it to lose its radiance, whereas a pumpkin spice smoothie is packed with powerful nutrients to give your skin that radiant glow you desire.

Blend 1/2 cup pumpkin, 7 ounces of plain Greek-style yogurt, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 of an avocado, 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed, and 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. You can freeze the pumpkin in an ice cube tray prior to blending it if you want a cold smoothie or warm the smoothie if it’s frigid outside. Unlike the latte, this smoothie is packed with beta and alpha-carotene and vitamin A, which are crucial nutrients for healthy skin.

Carrot Cake Smoothie

Another power-packed smoothie that will make your skin glow during the winter is a carrot cake smoothie. This not only satisfies your skin’s need for nutrients it also satisfies your sweet tooth in a much healthier way than the real thing. You know that carrots are good for your eyes, but they’re also filled with beta and alpha-carotene like pumpkin is and they are excellent for your skin. You might crave carrot cake, but your skin craves carrot cake smoothies.

To make this yummy skin booster, blend 1/2 cup carrot juice (unsweetened), 1 scoop of whey protein powder (vanilla is best), 2 tablespoons toasted wheat germ, 1 tablespoon softened cream cheese, 1 teaspoon flaxseed oil, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 2 grams glucomannan, and ice if you want the smoothie frosty. You’ll be surprised how much this tastes like carrot cake, and it is packed with protein to keep your skin and the rest of you healthy and happy.
